Answer With Explanation:
1. Option ‘A’.
Two actions are there i.e. SIT DOWN and WIN. If both the actions happened in the past one after the other after a gap, we use the past perfect tense for the action that took place first. So HAD WON is correct instead of WON.

2. DEMOLISHING (option ‘C’).
BRINGING DOWN SOMETHING doesn’t mean to cause something to fall or collapse; rather it means TO REDUCE something :
e.g. We aim to bring down prices on all computers; or to land an aircraft; or to make an aircraft fall out of the sky; or to make an animal or bird fall down or fall out of the sky by killing or wounding it. DEMOLISHING is the correct word
here.

3. HAD BEEN (option ‘C’).
The past perfect continuous tense is needed here. The past perfect continuous is used for an action that began before a certain point in the past (here TAKING OF BATH) and continued up to that time.

4. AT THE END OF THE (option ‘B’).
Use of AFTER is not right here. We use AFTER when we mean to sayLATER THAN SOMETHING or FOLLOWING SOMETHING IN TIME.
But here we mean to say THE POINT WHEN MONSOON ENDED. In such a case we use AT THE END OF. Use of DURING also incorrect as DURING means ALL THROUGH A PERIOD OF TIME. Obviously the total deficit can be measured only at the end

5. VERY GLAD (option ‘A’).
We use VERY when we mean TO A HIGH DEGREE; and TOO when we mean MORE THAN ENOUGH/MORE THAN WANTED OR NEEDED. We can also say that VERY is used in affirmative/positive context and TOO in negative context. Here the context is positive, so VERY GLAD will be correct.

6. CAN (option ‘B’).
It’s a possibility here. And this possibility is in the present, so CAN will be used. For past possibilities we use COULD. Though a possibility could be expressed by MAY/MIGHT also but there that possibility is not strong.

7. NO IMPROVEMENT (option ‘D’).
SSC keys say JUST AS NORMAL CHILDREN DO (option ‘A’). It’s right also. Here we need to learn the difference between use of LIKE and AS in comparisons. LIKE here is a preposition and in comparisons is followed by a noun, pronoun or gerund (verb+ing). Here in the given sentence LIKE (preposition) is followed by NORMAL CHILDREN (Noun phrase); hence quite correct. AS is a conjunction and is used when followed by a clause; hence SSC is right sentence improvement when the given sentence is already correct one does not need to consider other options even when any of them is correct also.

8. PASSED (option ‘B’).
Use of PASS ON is incorrect certainly. PASS = to move past or to the other side of sb/sth.

9. NO IMPROVEMENT (option ‘D’).
Use of SINCE and EVER SINCE is equally good here. SSC key says EVER SINCE (option ‘C’0; hence it’s correct also. But in sentence improvement when the given sentence is already correct one does not need to consider other options even when any of them is correct also.

10. LAST NIGHT (option ‘A’).
You cannot say YESTERDAY NIGHT because the night is also part of today. You can, however use both last evening or yesterday evening, because the evening is part of yesterday, as would be yesterday morning and yesterday afternoon. However, you cannot use last afternoon or last morning. There are certain exceptions sometimes.
You cannot use PREVIOUS NIGHT (option ‘B’) also as PREVIOUS means happening or existing before the event or the object that you are talking about.
